This is a project of the New Jersey Historical Garden Foundation.

Shakespeare Garden (Northern NJ)

Head over to the Shakespeare Garden of Cedar Brook Park in Plainfield and find out for yourself! This garden was designed by the Olmsted Brothers, then installed in 1927 by the Plainfield Garden Club and the Union County Parks Commission. The garden showcases flowers and plants that have been mentioned in the works of Shakespeare. For instance, it features a natural boulder retaining wall, a pergola, benches and there are also Medieval plant selections.

There is also another Shakespeare Garden at the College Of St. Elizabeth, on 2 Convent Road, in Morristown. This 1920s garden has a bust of Shakespeare and originally displays only plants that have been mentioned in Shakespeare's works.
