2. Enjoy the outdoors at Riverwood Park

If you want to commune with nature and leave modern conveniences behind, check out the campgrounds at Riverwood Park. This is camping that is quite challenging, with only one site reachable by a car. All the remaining five sites are reached after either a hike or a canoe ride.

3. Well, Shut Up and Eat

Located very near the US Post Office off Main Street, this oddly named restaurant offers some of the best food in Toms River. If you would like to sample home-style New Jersey cooking in a fun environment, then do visit Shut Up and Eat. Adding to the quirkiness of the place is the fact that all the staff are in their pajamas.

You might be lucky enough to visit when they have a promo. Anne Gauthier, the owner, always comes up with unique promos such as free coffee for those who bring their own coffee cups or getting a free pancake if you bring in your own plate.

If you want a whopping 13% discount on your food, wear pajamas when you come here.

Check out their French toast that's has strawberries and chocolate chip cream cheese in it. That in itself makes this place worthy of its Best Breakfast in Ocean County award.
